I loved this guitar. I know, as I build more and more guitars I’ll be saying that of plenty of my creations. But this one really had something. Just look at it! It sounded great, too, a real all-purpose instrument, from sweet mellow tones to fat, distorted chords. The Flame in Fir was another manifestation of the Flame shape, this time with a top made mostly from Douglas Fir (as well as a strip of…. I’m not sure, but possibly Jarra or Karri). The body is Rimu. This one sported 24 stainless steel frets and a 25.5 inch scale, along with some lovely copper hardware and Artec pickups.

Take a look at how I made it.
